Baby {Pace} | Katy Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

Oh man, what to say about this sweet family? For one, I appreciate their flexibility and understanding when I wasn’t feeling well the day before their session. If I’m feeling unwell, I ALWAYS let my newborn clients know immediately so that we can make accommodations so as to not get the baby sick. We wound up doing this session the morning of Christmas eve since that’s what they had available for a reschedule, and I made it work! It was lovely to fit in one last session before the new year, and I can’t imagine a better family to have spent it with. Mom and Dad were so sweet and hospitable and I LOVED how many ideas dad wanted to personalize his FIRST son’s session with! It was so heartwarming to see. Mom had prepped me beforehand with some sample images of some posing she wanted so that I could bring matching items. Dad loves to hunt, so we incorporated antlers from his personal collection. Dad also played baseball which we incorporated as well. I absolutely love doing creative sessions and I love collaborating with my families to bring their visions to life! This in-home session took a little longer than usual because of the heavier posing I don’t typically do, but boy was it worth it!! That’s why I don’t put time limits on my newborn sessions- getting the right shots is the most important to me!

I also HAD to ask if mom was an interior designer, since their house looked straight out of a magazine! She isn’t, though she is clearly incredibly talented in that area. They had a beautiful wooden bench I was able to turn on it’s side and use as a backdrop for some of the baseball shots. The glove in those shots is an heirloom as well. Baby Pace is so treasured and I’m sure he has a very lucrative sporting career ahead! And look at those adoring sisters…oh my goodness he’s going to be spoiled! Congratulations, you guys! Thank you again for not only letting me be a part of this special time in your life, but your Christmas holiday as well!

Baby {Morgan} | Katy, TX Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

Another extremely-late-to-be-blogged session, but a great one none the less. Sweet Morgan was adorable, and although she was a month old, she slept like a newborn! Her parent’s first treasure. We incorporated some of their own outfits for her that they had and loved, which is something I enjoy in lifestyle sessions - the unique touch that comes with using your own items!

Valicoff Family | Katy, TX Family Photographer

I feel like I say this all the time, but I truly cherish each of the families that believe in me and allow me to capture their precious memories. It's always nice, too, when you mesh together so well, as I did with this family. We had such an enjoyable time together and captured some fantastic unposed moments. I adore capturing children and the youth and magic that accompany their bright spirits. These two sisters were so, SO sweet with each other, and they made my job so easy. Baby Luna is so precious, and I loved all of the soft, sweet smiles that graced her older sister's face.

My love of photography has been a lifelong one, even if I didn't start doing it seriously until a year or two ago. I've always loved creating graphics and things in photoshop, and my favorite class in high school was the photoshop class I took with a teacher whom also happened to be the assistant softball coach for our high school team. Said teacher also had a side photography business. We stayed in touch throughout the years and I admired her work, often from afar, but also personally after hiring her to shoot my own wedding. She created such beautiful family photos and when I started up, I certainly aspired to be able to create images like her. Recently though, she's decided to close up shop and was kind enough to send a few referrals my way, this kind family being one of them! They worked with her for many years and I hope to see them through many more together here with me!

Fletcher {Newborn} Shoot | Katy, TX Lifetsyle Newborn Photographer

Wow, I'm so thrilled that I FINALLY Have some time to sit down and write this blog post! The holidays have seemed neverendingly full of festive fun, but we're blessed to have so many family and friend-filled events going on, and this new family has been blessed with their own little addition as well!

I feel like I've said this a fair amount this year (another testament to all the blessings!), but this was yet another one of those sessions where God clearly meant for us all to come together. This business has been my little labor of love over the past year and I'm so lucky to have had so many wonderful clients let me be a part of some of the most important times of their lives, but I do everything myself - all website stuff, design, and SEO. I'm not an expert by any means, so imagine my shock when this inquiry dropped into my inbox where she went on to state that she found me through a google search! I didn't even know I was showing up in google results that high yet, so that was surprise number one. Surprise number TWO was that, as it turns out, we all go to the same church! This couple had been about to book with a different photographer but just didn't feel quite right about it and her style, so Megan kept searching and after finding my site and scouring my blog, she recognized my daughter from sitting behind us in the pews every week! I mean, seriously, what a small, small world. I've never been so excited to do a session! That really was God's work right there, and we meshed so well and managed to get so many beautiful photos of this sweet family together!

Megan and Connor are also the cutest couple ever! They compliment each other so well and have such wonderful senses of humor. I had so much fun with them and I think it definitely showed! Also, how AMAZING is that nursery?! I'm obsessed. I love foxes and so the fox motif is just so wonderful to me, especially the unique fox in space tapestry on the wall! What a lucky little man to have such a cool nursery (and, of course, adoring and fun parents)!

{Adeline and Harrison} | Katy, TX Children's Photographer

I photographed these two cuties this past Sunday, and could not have been more excited to do so. My heart melts when I receive an inquiry for the 6-12 month age range because this age range in particular is so full of pure, simple sweetness - and it's even better when there's two of them! I really enjoy shooting twins and capturing that special bond that only twins can have, and not to mention twin shoots are just fun, so full of lively energy, and I always feel like our hour passes too fast! It's funny, then, that the session almost didn't happen. Momma made a scheduling mishap, accidentally booking with Olive Branch Photography...IN INDIANA! I'm indebted to the photographer there for being so understanding with her of the situation and kindly hunting me down so that my client could receive the pictures she needed here in Texas. She passed my contact info on to the mom, and I got her scheduled in quickly.

The weather was absolutely perfect on Sunday, so I'd say everything ended up working out beautifully in the end. It was still crisp outside from the previous cold front, and we shot at 12:30 before the heat set in for the day. Little Adeline and Harrison were napped, fed, and perfectly happy in time for their shoot, and they did phenomenal. Don't those sweet eyes and tiny pouts just make you melt? I also love baby details, like tiny feet and curious little hands. They were killing me with their cuteness. I also love how their personalities shine, especially Adeline pushing on her brother's face. It's like she's saying, "move! It's MY time to shine!"

Perfectly precious, aren't they?
